U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Washington and Jefferson College in 1911, from the law department of the University of Pennsylvania in 1915, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. During World War I, he served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, with the 7th Ammunition Train. After the war, he practiced law, was elected in 1927 as a Republican to the Seventieth, Seventy-first, and Seventy-second Congresses and served until his resignation in 1932. After leaving Congress, he was appointed a member of the United States Board of Tax Appeals in 1934 and served on that court until his death.
