US Congressman. Born in South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Moravian School, in 1899, Lehigh University, in 1903 and from the medical department of the University of Pennsylvania, in 1908. He was an instructor in chemistry at Lehigh University (1903-04), instructor in biological chemistry at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Columbia University, New York City, (1908-09) and then began the practice as town physician in West Hoboken, New Jersey, (1909-14). During World War I, he served as 1st lieutenant in the US Medical Corps. After the war, he was police surgeon and physician to public schools, in Secaucus, New Jersey. In 1921 he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress, serving until 1923. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of medicine until his death at age 67 in Cliffside Park, New Jersey.
