U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the law department of Stanford University California in 1901, studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Tonopah, Nevada. He served as district attorney of Nye County (1903-04), was a member of the Nevada State House of Representatives in 1919, chairman of the Democratic State committee in 1922 and councilor from Nevada to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1923. In 1923, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-eighth Congress, serving until 1925. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he practiced law until his death.
