US Senator. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War (1861-1865). Served as a United States Senator from Montana from 1890 to 1893. Also served as a Candidate for Delegate to the United States Congress from Montana Territory in 1864, 1867, 1880, and 1886, and Member of the Montana Territorial House of Representatives from 1873 to 1879.
