Louise Pruden Brockwell , 80, of Hopewell, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in John Randolph Medical Center.
Mrs. Brockwell was born in Nottoway County and had made her home in Hopewell most of her life. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Hopewell, the Retired Teachers Association, and she was a retired teacher with 25 years service with the Hopewell Public School System. Mrs. Brockwell was the daughter of the late John Marsden and Lucy E. Lewis Pruden, and the widow of William Lee Brockwell .
Surviving are one daughter, Billie L. Brockwell of Fredericksburg; one son, Christopher A. Brockwell and wife, Veronica, of Richmond; and one grandson, Kurt Lutz of Fredericksburg.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bruce Bevans, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 505 Cedar Lane, Hopewell, VA 23860, or the Hopewell Emergency Crew, P.O. Box 572, Hopewell, VA 23860.
