Accompolishments included improved school financial aid distribution, increased university faculty salaries, reform for the State Hospital in Pueblo and the State Penitentiary in Canon City. First 4-year term Colorado governor. Son of long time city of Denver Auditor William H. McNichols Sr. Brother of Denver mayor (11968-1983) William H. "Bill" McNicholas, Jr. Made an unsuccessful run for the U.S. Senate in 1968.
