JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - William "Bill" Grant, 52, of Johnson City, passed away on August 6, 2007. Born in Louisa, Kentucky, he was the son of Billie Walker Fowler and the late Frank B. Grant.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was employed by Alliance Data System.
Bill was a loving husband and father who enjoyed watching both his sons playing sports. He also enjoyed antique automobiles and volunteering with the Special Olympics where he was a former board member.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Deborah Hincher Grant of Johnson City and their sons, Travis and Marcus Grant, both of Johnson City; mother: Billie Walker of Princeton, WV; sister: Louise Grant of Abingdon, Va. and her sons, Cy Williams and Quentin Kornegay; brother: Ty Grant and his wife Verena of Greensboro, N.C.; brothers-in-law: David Hincher and wife Lynn of Stafford, Va. and their daughters, Heather, Emily and Caroline; Mark Hincher and wife Marti of Las Vegas, Nev. and their children, Scott and Samantha and Mike Hincher and wife Kathy of Lebanon, Va. and their son, Jared; mother-in-law: Nancy Hincher Harrod of Coeburn, Va.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Johnson City with the Rev. Tim Bracken and the Rev. Betty Furches officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday (today) from 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m. at the church. Committal services will follow the church service in Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Danny Burgess, John Babel, Paul Jacobson, Ernest Campbell, Ben Peeples and Bill Potter. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Path Finder Sunday School Class and ushers of First United Methodist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 900 Spring St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
