Arthur W. DeWert, 73 years old of Convoy, Ohio, passed away at 8:39 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at his residence following an illness of 10 years.

Arthur was born on Monday, February 10, 1936 in Findlay, Ohio the son of the late William E. DeWert and the late Joyce (Wiley) DeWert Lennington. He married Marvene Ann Smith on February 16, 1955 in St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana and she survives.

Arthur worked at Ft. Wayne Vehicle Auction for the last 5 years as a CDL driver; worked also at Pampered Coach in Ft. Wayne and formerly operated MAD Trucking for 20 years and formerly worked at B.F. Goodrich for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife, Marvene Ann DeWert of Convoy, Ohio; daughter, Jeanette (Judson) Fee of Rockmart, Georgia; daughter, Babette (Edward) Bland of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Nanette (Jeff) Wynn of Yoder, Indiana; daughter, Paulette (Steve) Heuer of Spring, Texas; daughter, Suzette (Bill) McKee of Convoy, Ohio; son, Gary DeWert of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Gayle (Jill) DeWert of Van Wert, Ohio; sister, Annette Witte of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brother, William DeWert of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding Arthur in death was one sister, Frances Lare.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating.

Friends will be received from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana.

Preferred memorials are to Van Wert Hospice; Cancer Services of Allen County Indiana; or the Monroeville EMS.
