US Congressman. Elected to represent Michigan's 6th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1891 to 1893. Also served as a Member of the Michigan State House of Representatives from 1855 to 1857, Speaker of the Michigan State House of Representatives in 1857, Member of the Michigan State Senate for the 5th District from 1861 to 1862, and Democratic Candidate for Governor of Michigan in 1862.
