Clara Ontiveros Caballero, 68, of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on Aug. 29, 2011. She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Fort Stockton. Clara married the love of her life, Raul Caballero, on May 8, 1965. As a pastor's wife, she faithfully stood by his side for over 46 years. Her passion was her devotion to her children and serving the Lord. Clara was a member of Alliance Baptist Church in Lubbock.
She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 46 years, Raul; her seven children, Elva Guitron (Alfredo), Raul Caballero Jr. (Roberta), Saul Caballero (Sheila), Priscilla Botello (Joe), Jacob Caballero (Noemi), Jonathan Caballero (Jessica), and Samuel Caballero; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Clara is also survived by two brothers, Robert and Manuel Ontiveros, and two sisters, Estefana Ximeniz and Frances Flores.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 31, 2011, in Combest Family Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Alliance Church.
