Revolutionary War Continental Brigadier General. He was imprisoned early on in the war after the battle for Long Island. He was allowed parole, but was accused of continued communication with the Americans and consequently placed under guard in a NY City prison - shared a cell with Ethan Allen. He was slightly wounded and never fully recovered from his injuries, nor his illnesses and mistreatment in jail. He was eventually traded for British prisoner(s).
