William Henry Stricklin was the son of William Riley Stricklin. They lived in eastern Blount County during the mid-1800`s. Their farm was where the present Susan Moore High School now sits. William Henry and Nancy Nelson Stricklin moved to present day Cold Springs sometime in the 1870`s. He and his sons bought and homesteaded all the land for approximately a square mile, or a little further, from where Cold Springs High School now stands, slightly toward the west (Nig Stricklin and Early), toward the north ("Black Henry," Charles, and others), and for more than a mile toward the east (William Henry, Nig, Elisha, and "Red Henry.") This is approximate, and there were other Stricklins who lived there also. This is as told to Mildred Stricklin Bowers by Elisha Stricklin. William Henry also had brothers named Elisha Burgett and Thomas L.Stricklin. William Henry is buried at Addington Chapel(Cold Springs, AL) beside his father, William Riley. Elisha Burgett and Thomas L. are buried at Livingston Chapel(near Crane Hill, AL).I hope this helps people who are researching their family tree.
