U.S. Congressman. He was employed by John Deere Plow Company, (1907-10) attended the University of Nebraska, (1910-12), graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, in 1913, was admitted to the bar and practiced law in Chicago, Illinois. During World War I, he served in the Field Artillery, United States Army. After the war, he practice law, was assistant attorney general of Nebraska, (1921-22), legal adviser to Omaha Welfare Board, (1930-31) and a member of the Nebraska State House of Representatives, (1933-34). In addition, he was a Judge Advocate General’s Department, (1942-45), chairman of Nebraska Liquor Control Commission, (1945-46) and judge of the fourth judicial district court of Nebraska, (1946-54). In 1955, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-fourth Congress, serving until 1957. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he was again elected judge of the fourth judicial district court of Nebraska, serving (1957-60). He then owned and managed farmland until his death at age 83.
