Author. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he graduated from Columbia University Law School in 1891, from the New York Law School in 1893, was admitted to the bar in 1894, began to practice law and was a member of the New Jersey law firm Osborne & Astley. He served as counsel for the Authors League of America and began his literary career in 1902. At first, he was writing short stories for magazines such as Harper's Monthly, Harper's Weekly, McClure's and Saturday Evening Post. His first novel "Red Mouse" published in 1909. Some of his noted works included "Running Fight" (1910), "Catspaw" (1911), "Blue Buckle" (1913), "Boomerang" (1915) and "The Stroheim Stethoscope" (1926). He also penned the original motion picture serial, "Neal of the Navy" (1915). He died at age 68 in Newark, New Jersey.
