She was born in Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia on 23rd May 1928 and baptised at Glenn Innes Parish Church on 20th June 1928.
Although born in Glen Innes she lived in Tenterfield until she was eight years old when she returned to Glen Innes. She had her Confirmation and First Communion on December 17th 1939.
She achieved an Intermediate (education) Certificate while living in Tenterfield New South Wales, Australia, before completeing a two year book-keeping course when eighteen years old.
She worked as a Bank Clerk for the Bank of New South Wales, and was the first female Bank Clerk in Gunnedah.
She met Goodwin Kenneth Mcilveen through Christchurch Church of Englands' youth group and they married at St.Mathews Church, Manly, Sydney on 22nd January 1952 and had four children, Robyn Blake (1956), Jan(1958), Karyn(1961) and Ross(1963). SHe took a career break to raise her children.
They built their first house at 131 Hunter Street, Gunnedah, before moving to 1 Hammilton Street, Gunnedah. After Kenneth's death in 1983 she moved to a smaller house at 47 Stewart Street, Gunnedah.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, knitting and other handicrafts and was treasurer of the local Country Womens' Association and also a member of the Parents & Citizens Association of New South Wales and of the Trefoil Guild.
She died of a heart attack in Gunnedah, Australia on 13th May 1993 and was buried in Gunnedah General Cemetery.
