Author. He wrote a number of poems, articles, and novels, as well as being the editor of the Macon (Georgia) Telegraph newspaper. His most famous work, "Eneas Africanus," sold over 3 million copies. His home, the "Kingfisher Cabin," was restored and now sits on the grounds of Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon.
