DANVILLE, VA - Nancye Scruggs Altice, expired on August 6, 2002, at Roman Eagle Nursing Home after a long illness.

Nancye was born February 24, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Otie Linwood Scruggs, Mamie Farthing Scruggs; and was the mother of the late Marsha Lee Altice (1951-2000).

Nancye graduated from Whitmell Farm Life School and lived most of her life at 213 Ripley Drive.

Nancye was employed by the John Daniel Corporation and was later self-employed as an antique dealer, restaurant owner and operated a Christmas House.

Nancye spent many wonderful summers with Marsha and friends at Ocean Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC.

She attended Christ The King Lutheran Church.

She is survived by cousins, aunts and friends.

Nancye was remembered by those who loved her for her wonderful story telling and her hearty laughter.

Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Jim Kleinfelter at 11am on Friday, August 9, 2002 at the chapel of Townes Funeral Home. Visitation was prior to the funeral at 10am at Townes Funeral Home and burial was at Highland Burial Park.

Townes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
