Governor of Connecticut. He co-founded Newark, New Jersey with Jasper Crane and he was a founder of Milford, Connecticut. He was Deputy Governor of Connecticut from 1678-1683, Governor from 1683 to 1698, and Deputy Governor again from 1698-1708.
