Patricia M. "Tead" Ellis, 69, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. Ronald Sinclair, pastor of Oxbow Presbyterian Church officiating and burial in Oxbow Cemetery.
Patricia was born November 10, 1942 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Stephen and Lillian Smith Macaulay. Tead owned and operated a store in Oxbow and served as postmaster in Oxbow. She also had worked at Lord Electric in Boston, MA, at Bonnie Castle Resort, and as a home healthcare provider. Tead enjoyed antiques, traveling the area looking for a deal at garage sales, and visiting with friends and family. She married Larry Ellis on February 4, 1989.
Tead is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Rhonda Robinson and husband Leslie of Oxbow, Kevin Tharrett and companion Phylliss Farrell of Oxbow, Roxanne Witt and husband Darrell of Florida, and Larry Ellis Jr. and wife Terri of South Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, James Macaulay and wife Linda of Gouverneur; a sister, Vicky Hooley of Theresa; and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her previous husband, Roland Tharrett; an infant son, Roland Tharrett; her parents; two brothers, Eugene and David Macaulay; and a sister, Beverly Swem.
