Betty Jane Abshire, age 84 of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Betty was born in Darke County on December 26, 1927 to the (late) Otis & Ida (Nixon) Staudt; was a graduate of Gettysburg High School, Class of 1945; worked for Petersime Incubator, Gettysburg as Bookkeeper for seven years; was a homemaker; a member of Webster United Methodist Church; a member of Wayne Grange; and a member of Darke County Gourd Club. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard E. Abshire in 2009. Betty is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon & Jim Siders of Bradford, Beverly & Tom Kendall of Troy; six granddaughters, Wendy Siders & Lindsay Siders of Troy, Janielle & Brian Crickmore of Bradford, Danielle & Kyle Clack of Winchester, IN, Kristin & Leo Quinn of Troy, Lisa & Tom Maxson of Casstown; 10 great-grandchildren, Austin & Brooklyn Crickmore, Katelynne, Kaden, & Isabella Clack, Tyler & Katie Quinn, Madison, Evan & Benjamin Maxson; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma & Jim Graves of Covington; and other relatives and friends. Funeral service 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Rev. Ray Haley officiating. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles.
