Sgt. Robert E. Colvill, Jr. was killed while he was in the Iraqui National Guard Headquarters when it came under a mortar attack. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
He was a 1991 graduate of Madison Heights High School. Survivors include his wife, Christine Colfill; his children, Savanna, 6; Travis, 5; and Zachary, 2; his mother, Anita L. (Beeman) Walker; stepfather, Daniel E. Walker; father, Robert E. Colvill Sr. and fiancee, Pamela McCord; wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Kathy) Boss; two sisters, Melanie L. (Watkins) Smith and husband Gunnery Sgt. Barton R. Smith and Angel L. (Colvil) Seward and companion Steven J. Maddos; brother-in-law, Eric Boss; maternal grandmother, Marilyn (Reasoner) Donovan; maternal grandfather, M. Dean Beeman; paternal grandfather, Jack Colvill and special friend Ruth Buckley; maternal great-grandmother, Berdella Reasoner; nieces, Ashley and Emily Smith and Meghan Seward; aunt, Debbie (Beeman) Huffman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Deanna) Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. Ted (Beth) Hiatt, Karen (Beeman) Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy (dDonna) Price "Uncle Facey", Master Sgt. Moses G. Beeman, Mr. and Mrs. Andre (Tammy) Wright, Aunt Joyce Hancock, Uncle Rick Colvill, Uncle John Walker; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Beverly Heavilin; patrnal great-grandparents, Omar and Letty Colvill; three uncles, Dennis Thompson, Larry Huffman and Billy Heavilin; and cousin, Keaton Michael Carmack.
