Mrs. Hulda Mahnke passed away at her home at 1405 South Eleventh street,
Saturday, death being caused by a stroke of apoplexy.
Mrs. Mahnke, nee Schneider, was born in Pommern, Germany, April 2, 1855, and
came to this country with her parents the same year. She made her home at
Reedsville until 1873 when she was married to John Mahnke who preceded her in
death a short time ago. She has live in Manitowoc since 1922. She is survived by
eight children, twenty-one
grandchildren and one brother. Her sons are Otto Mahnke of Reedsville, Rev.
William C. Mahnke of Milwaukee, John W. Mahnke of Reedsville, Henry Mahnke of
Collins and Rev. Louis Mahnke of North Milwaukee, her daughters, Mrs. Henry
Rusch of Reedsville, Mrs. Ad. R. Vallesky and Miss Frieda Mahnke of this city
and her brother is Albert Schneider of Osman.
Funeral services will be held from the Evangelical Lutheran church
Wednesday afteron (sic) and will be in charge of the Rev. Karl
Machmiller and Theodore Uetzman. Burial will be made at the Evergreen cemtery.
