Ruben E. Albers, age 78, of Loganville, died on Monday, May 14, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
He was born on May 9, 1929 in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County, the son of Henry and Leonora (Wollschlager) Albers. He was a 1948 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On Oct. 29, 1955 he was married to the former LeOra Winecke. Ruben farmed in the Town of Westfield for many years. He later worked for Bergman Brothers until his retirement. Ruben was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and singing in the church choir.
Survivors include two children, Steven Albers of Loganville and Sue (Dan) Lehman; two grandsons, Bryan and Derek Lehman; his brother, Rex (Ardell) Albers of Reedsburg; his sister, Shirley Albers of Reedsburg; special friend, Marjorie Schmidt of Reedsburg; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, LeOra, on Sept. 16, 1999 and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg.
