Belgium singer. A graduate of the Antwerp art academy, he moved from painting into music. He began performing at "De Muze" an Antwerp jazz cafe where he grew popular. After performing at a festival at Bilzen, he was signed to the record company HKM. HIs first hits were "Ring, Ring, I've Got to Sing," and "My Crucified Jesus" from his album in 1966. His music was a blend of blues and folk music. He toured internationally and performed at the Paris Olympia. He recorded four more albums between 1968 and 1978 with varying results. Flush by the overwhelming success of the first album, he started to party with friends to the detriment of his career and fiscal responsibilities. Royalties were deferred for back taxes and over time he lost his fans. He attempted a comeback in the seventies without success. He died destitute of throat cancer.
