Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1953 to 1960), he played at the tackle and guard positions in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. Born Donald Elroy Boll, he attended Scribner High School (Nebraska) and began his athletic accomplishments while participating in baseball, basketball and track (his school had no football team at the time). Upon graduation, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and served during the final months of World War II. After retuning home, he enrolled at the University of Nebraska and while working his was towards a bachelor's degree in Agriculture, he played football earning three letters while with the Cornhuskers. Selected by the Redskins during the 4th round of the 1953 NFL Draft, he appeared in 92 regular season games. In 1956, Boll distinguished himself as he earned Second Team All-Pro honors. After retiring from football, he worked in the food retail industry.
