EMELIA MILLER (d. 1966)

Mrs. John Miller, 80, formerly of 848 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc, died Sunday
evening at South Milwaukee Rest Home after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church
Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Emelia Nyhagen was born July 20, 1885, at Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Knut and Maren Olsen Nyhagen. She was married Dec. 28, 1905, at
Manitowoc to John Miller who with his late brother, Joseph, operated a barber
shop for many years. Mrs. Miller’s husband died in December of 1957. Mrs. Miller
was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of First Lutheran Church and a life member
of the Women’s Missionary federation.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Hughes, of South Milwaukee,
five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A son, Leonard Miller, preceded
her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 4 p.m.
Tuesday until noon Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church chapel
where the body will lie in state until time of service.
