Actor. He was a popular actor in B-movies, westerns and serials during the late 1930s and early 1940s. He is best remembered as the first cinema "Lone Ranger." Enlisted in the Marines during World War II, he died from apparent alcohol poisoning following the fighting on Tinian (Marianas Islands). He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal with two stars, and the Victory Medal World War II.
