He was on the USS Jarvis (DD393) when it was sunk. The cemetery listed is the location of his cenotaph. Alvin's body was never found, therefore his family has never had a memorial service. Alvin's memorial cenotaph was placed during Memorial Day weekend 2006. The family had a service for him finally. Alvin was my great uncle.
