Lorenzo is the husband of Sclarna Terry Cornell. They wed on November 14, 1849. He is the son of Amos Cornell. Lorenzo served as a Private in the 14th Pennsylvania Cavalry Co.I during the Civil War.

He is described as having dark complexion, gray eyes, black hair, 5'-8", and being 170 lbs. He was also listed as a carpenter.

He is the father of Loemma "Emma" Louisa, Louisa Jeanette, Chester Foridice, Orlando Fernando, Curtis Freemont, and Wallace Gardner Cornell.
