Dorothy Mae "Dot" was the 2nd born in to a large family of 11 siblings. She was the daughter of William Laverne Kagy and Goldie Helen Huston Kagy. She loved her family and loved spending countless hours talking about what she called the best time in her life growing up in such a loving household. She fondly accounted about the memories of home made clothes that were made on her mother's Singer treadle machine,and having meals on the family table that reached 10'long. She recalled memories of smelling bread and cinnamon rolls fill the air as her and siblings approached their home after school. She loved watching her mother manage a large house hold with love and instruction which she fondly carried over into her life time.

Dorothy worked in numerous occupations but the one she loved the most was working under the newly implemented county welfare "Home Worker Program". Her job was to enter the homes of welfare recipients and teach them how to do domestic chores and cooking skills. She loved demonstrating the simplicity of cooking and cleaning and always said she learned so much watching her own mother. She was also known for making her famous tossed green salads that was served with her home made dressing and her Lemon Pies was her gift to those she loved. I might add that she loved doing laundry. She could remove "Any" stain.
She also "Loved" participating and helping with the planning of the yearly Kagy Family Reunions that would at time serve up to 100 family members. She used to say the reunions would make her parents proud!

Dorothy was loved by so many as having such a kind and giving soul and always believed that family is all any one would need.

She was very intuitive as well. She had a connection to those she loved so much so that she instinctively knew something was wrong. She and her mother, and siblings practiced it daily. She would say "Something is wrong with???" and sure enough she would call or they would call. She taught me how to stay in tuned with yourself. That was a gift from above one in which it has taken years to perfect. She always said listen and follow what " Your know er knows". That intuitive lineage still exists to this day even down to her granddaughter.

She loved demonstrating what it meant to be a Christian and practiced it daily, and she passed on "Good Friday" in 1992.

Dorothy died at the age of 62 of a rare form of "Brain Cancer" one in which she suffered from the last few years of her life,

She married Archie Roscoe Waddle and had 4 children.

As the author of this tribute I want all to know what a remarkable woman she was. She was my Mother,Confidant and Best Friend. She was a beautiful soul. I loved how she was full of wisdom and lived her life to demonstrate how to forgive and live on.

Mom your passing was to soon, but I now realize that your wisdom will live on in My Daughter one in whom you never met. Yes I have taught her your favorite expression,"Your know er knows". I love you and miss you so much!
