A memorial has been established to the oncology dept. at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Cecelia's memory. Funeral mass was held May 12, 1987 at St. Isaac Jogues Chapel.
Cecelia was born July 20, 1921 to Tales and Emilia Tapio. She graduated from Holy Rosary Mission School at Pine Ridge.
She later graduated from Black Hills State College at Spearfish with a degree in sociology, then earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma.
Cecelia was an employee of Sioux San Hospital since 1966. She began work as a medical records clerk, later transferred to the social svcs. dept. and was director of social services and mental health at the hospital when she passed away.
She married Adam Rohrbuck on Jan. 31, 1973 in Rapid City. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, served on the Mayor's Human Relations Committee, the board of Western South DAkota Senior Citizens Inc. and staff at St. Joseph's Indian School on the Minority Affairs Committee. She was a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and St. Isaac Jogues Church.
She is survived by her husband Adam, John Lee of Rapid City, Carole Lee Adams, Judith C. Lee Payne of Rapid City, Bonnie Lee Deutscher of Wall, and her brother Paul Tapio, her sisters; Mary Lee, Agnes Jazek, Theresa Siciliano, and Gladys Nordlee.

Cecelia Tapio Rohrbuck was married to my Great-Uncle Hobart Lee. Her spouse Adam was a SGT in the US Army.
