My Father was born to an unwed mother on February 6, 1931, however, my Dad's birth certificate lists Clarence Roy Hutson as his father.

While in High School one day, my father tried to sell a raffle ticket he had bought for 50 cents. He had no money to buy lunch that day. No one would buy it from him, so he went without lunch. As it turned out, he had the winning raffle ticket and it was for a 1948 Ford. His friends wished they had bought it then. Oh, and he didn't even know how to drive at the time. That was rectified soon after.

My Father joined the USMC reserves while in High School and was called to active duty after graduation in 1949. He was honorably discharged early after contracting Hepatitis. He served from 1949-1951 with the rank of Sergeant.

He married my Mother on December 28, 1951 and had two children.

My Father's best friend was named Donald Ivo. He was the older brother of Tommy Ivo, child actor and Drag Racer. When Donald Ivo was discharged from the Marines, he died shortly there after in an automobile accident. As a tribute to his friend, my younger brother was named after him.

His 1st job out of the military was working as a lineman for Pacific Telephone Company. He remained there until he was hired by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. Due to an injury, he left the department and pursued other career opportunities. At the time of his death he work for Continental Airlines as a freight supervisor.

I miss my Father still to this day.
