Rachael Marie Tisdale entered into God's loving, Heavenly care January 6, 2006.
She was the precious and beautiful baby daughter of John C. and Lori Merrill Tisdale.
Although Rachael's departure was a day of pain and suffering for family and friends, it was her day of glory. She was God's precious angel. Rachael always greeted everyone she saw with a beautiful warm smile and with those bright, twinkling inviting eyes. She will be dearly missed by everyone that ever came in contact with her.
Rachael is survived by her loving parents, Charlie and Lori; her grandparents, Chuck and Laurie Tisdale of Charleston, SC; Jim and Susan Merrill of West Columbia, SC; several great-grandparents and aunts and uncles; also her godparents, Michael and Shari Tanner of Denmark, SC.
Rachael was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type I) at seven months. SMA is a motor neuron disease (similar to muscular dystrophy) and is an autosomal recessive disorder; it is the #1 genetic killer of infants in the world. Motor neurons affect the muscles throughout the body, and feeding and swallowing are also impacted. About 1 in 6000 babies born are affected by SMA, and about 1 in 40 people are genetic carriers. There is still no cure for SMA, but researchers feel they are close.

Spread your wings and fly. Appear where all can see you, and know that you are doing well. Land on a shoulder for good luck to that person. Let your parents see those wings extended, and you are free to fly forever.|
