The son of Ken M. and Virginia Lee (Rosebrock) Hale. On August 25, 1987, Hale married Patty Ann (Myers) Hale.
Hale was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church. He graduated from Berryville High School in 1982 and was an All-State high school football player. He then went on to play college football at Texas A&M from 1982 ~ 1984; at that time, he transferred to the University of Central Arkansas, where he was on the NAIA national championship teams in 1984 and 1985.
Hale was president of P.M. Machine Co. in Berryville, Arkansas. He was very active in honoring area Civil War veterans' graves with flags and memorial stones for many years. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Military Order of the Stars and Bars, Wiggens Artillery Battery. Hale was president of the Carroll County Historical Society, and a former board member of Berryville School District for eleven years.
