Mary Lillian "Mame" Donnelly Barrett was born December 8, 1884 in Canastota, Madison County, New York, the second-born child of seven children of Thomas John Donnelly and Nora Heffernan Donnelly. Mary married Edward Aloysius Barrett on June 21, 1921 at Saint Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church in Canastota. They had one child who died at birth. In retirement Mary and Ed lived six months of each year in New York and six months in Florida. She passed away on October 29, 1982 in Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida at age 97 and is buried next to her husband Ed and near her sister Helen at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.
