Jim was an active funeral director for 57 years, serving as owner/operator of Minges Funeral Home in Harrison Ohio since 1989. He was a member of St. John the Baptist church in Harrison Ohio. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Signalman 1st Class, with two tours of duty in the South Pacific and Europe, including the battle of Normandy. He was a 50 year member of the Catholic Order of Forrester's Gonzaga Court 1572, Knights of Columbus, St. Issac Jogues, also a member of the Schwab Bailey Post 425, and was the Past President of the Oak Hills Kiwanis. Survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Clare Minges; six children, Mary Ann Minges, Mark Minges, Tim Minges, Pete Minges, Jane Minges, and Sue Polanka; ten grandchildren, Patrick, Andrew, and Emily Minges, Elizabeth and Ben Minges, Christine, Elyse, and Annie Minges, and Laura and Matthew Polanka; and three brothers, Dick (Marye Alice) Minges of Loveland, Colorado, Bill Minges, and Todd Minges. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends and loyal employee Patty Vaught. He was 81.
