Margaret Watson Torre, age 83 of Fargo, died at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo.

Margaret Watson was born on October 23, 1921 in Moorhead, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Vochs) Watson.

She attended school in Moorhead until the fourth grade when she needed to remain home to help care for her mother who was suffering from crippling arthritis and a mental illness that created a fear of leaving the house.

At age fourteen, Margaret left home when her sister and confidant died at age sixteen of untreated diabetes. She joined on with a troop that traveled the country dancing for a dime a dance.

By the time of WWII, she had settled in San Francisco as a featured dancer at the President Theater.

Under the stage name Sandi, she was a hit with the servicemen based in the area. In 1942 she married a very special man, Theodore Torre. Unfortunately, he died in his sleep in 1950.

Margaret continued working as a dancer, never remarrying, and carrying a torch for her "dead air force husband" until her death.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents, Arthur and Marie, and her beloved sister, Irene.

She is survived by her friends, Michelle Matchie, Arlen Hanson, and many others who have been charmed by her over the years. She was fortunate to have turned so many acquaintances into dear friends.
