Kenneth is the oldest of four sons born to Louis and Helen (Briggs) Graham. He started working at Key Industries in Fort Scott, Kansas right out of high school, where he met and later married Rosie Thomas on August 18, 1945. They have three children: Dale, Steve and DeAnn. The family moved to Kansas City, Kansas in September of 1950, then to Shawnee in 1971, where they lived until moving to Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in 2003. Ken retired from Colgate Palmolive in 1983 after thirty-three years with that company. Ken took up the game of golf after his retirement, winning many awards in Senior tournaments. He also spent a great deal of time with his children and grandchildren. Rosie passed in 2008, but Ken had his immediate family along with his Brighton Gardens family to help him though her loss.
Ken started his work career as a paper boy in Fort Scott. One of his last (volunteer) jobs was delivering the daily newspaper to three floors at Brighton Gardens. He also called BINGO three times a week for the Assisted Living and the Long Term Care residents. Ken always had a smile for everyone and would most often ask you something about what was going on in your life that made you feel special because he remembered.
Kenneth was very active in the Community of Christ Church, having attended several congregations due to closures for declining membership over the years.
Left to mourn his passing are three children and their spouses: Dale and Linda Graham, Steve and Sharyn Graham, Steve and DeAnn Bender; five grandchildren (four with spouses): Aaron and Akiko Graham, Carson and Erica Kermode, Jeff and Christa Corrie, Jason and Michele Goff and Natalie Bender; and five great-grandchildren: Fiona and Ellie Graham, Laney and Porter Goff, and Graham Corrie. Also two brothers: Robert and Billy (Shirley) Graham; nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
