Dora was born in Pruzhany, Belarus. She grew up on a beet farm. Dora left Europe from Amsterdam, Holland and arrived at New York, December 9, 1913 on the SS Nordham. Her arrival was sponsored by the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society (HIAS). Her name upon arrival was DWOIRE POMERANCZ. Dora married Israel Techner in 1921. She hardly ever talked about her life in Europe. During January - February 1943, the Nazis transported all the Jews of Pruzhany, including many named Pomerantz, to Auschwitz to die in the gas chambers.

Dora was very nice. She died of heart disease.
