Son of Frederick (Howard) Plamann and Opal Juanita (LaShelle) Plamann

Husband to Marjorie Ellen (Estes) Plamann

Father of Richard Edwin Plamann, David Wayne Plamann, Cynthia Jane (Plamann) Basel, and Dee Ann (Plamann) Harvey

My Dad bravely served in the United States Navy as a Seaman, First Class from February, 1945 to August 1946. He received the Victory Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.

Dad never talked much about his time in the Navy. He poured himself into working hard, helping others and raising his family. He remodeled our home all of my growing up years and I followed him around and "helped" as much as I could. I loved spending time with him! He taught me how to love and respect my God and the people God had put into my life. He held me on his lap during scary Kansas thunderstorms and helped me see the beauty in them. I love them to this day! His knowledge and love of Civil War history was incredible and as I grow older I find that I too love history. He was a wonderful Grandfather to my children. Dad became sick on November 16, 2001 and passed away the next day. Thanksgiving was very difficult that year. There will always be a great absence in our family but I am so thankful for the promise of seeing him again one day!
