Alma Nadine (Paisley) Wandler

Alma Nadine Paisley was born to Elsie and William Paisley on April 24, 1930, in Pomeroy, Washy. She had two sisters, Wilma and Stella, and one brother Harold. She lost both of her parents at the age of eight and lived with various family members from that point until her marriage to John Wandler on November 30, 1947, in Seattle. To this union five children were born, Kathy, Mike, James, David, and Daniel. Her children were the joy of her life and they became the family she longed for growing up. Alma enjoyed working in her garden, going to yard sales, thrift stores, doing craft projects, canning and she was always on the lookout for a bargain, especially as it pertained to one of her kids or her husband. Alma often sacrificed her own necessities/wants for others. Within the last month she splurged and purchased for the first time in her life a brand new Lazy Boy recliner. This also became the place where she went to Heaven. Alma never gave up even though life was very difficult at times, and was an inspiration to those of us who loved her. She kept going no matter what. This was evident with the loss of her beloved son Mike in 1982, and heart problems throughout the years. Alma was the best mom anyone could have ever hoped to have and her children feel blessed to have had her as their mom and will forever be grateful that God gave her to them. Alma is survived by her husband John at home, Kathy in Coeur d'Alene, James (Linda) in Sandpoint, David in Post Falls, Daniel in Sagle, Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister, Wilma in Seattle. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and William; brother Harold; sister, Stella; son, Mike; and son-in-law, Lauren. God granted Alma's final wish to be at home with her family. She went to Heaven on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007. We know she no longer feels any pain as has been reunited with loved ones waiting for her in Heaven. She will be deeply missed by all of us who loved her. The family would like to express our deep appreciation to Dr. Anchor and the entire Hospice staff for all of the kindness and tenderness that was shown to Alma and the rest of the Wandler family. Words can never truly express how they have helped in this most difficult time. Contributions can be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, Idaho 83835. Private services were held.
