Mrs. Mary Ann Melcher, 89 of 1615 15th Street, died Saturday at St. Mary Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Fr. Regis Watts officiating, and burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery at Lindsay. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born Dec. 8, 1880, in Portsmouth, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret Frithen Korth, and was married to Henry Melcher Feb. 12, 1901 at St. Bernard.
Mrs. Melcher was a resident of Lindsay until 1954, then moved to Columbus.
A Catholic, she was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. She had been affiliated with Christian Mothers and Franciscan Missionary Union.
Surviving are Seven sons, Albert of Venice, Calif., Bill of Wenatchee, Wash., Joe and Larry of Mesa, Ariz., Lee of Lindsay, Ed of Hazel Park, Mich., and Ben of San Bruno, Calif., and five daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Catherine) Soulliere of Columbus, Mrs. Edward (Claire) Gates of Fergus Falls, Minn., Mrs. Mark (Laverna) Maguire of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Eleanor Zinn and Mrs. Vivien (Mary) Hoegerol of Omaha.
Other survivors are 32 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Dohmen of Columbus and Mrs. Bruno Lahens of Humphrey; and one brother, Leo
Korth of Burlington, Wash.
