My great grandmother Elizabeth was the eldest child of Franz (Frank) and Katherine (Engel) Golling. She was born in Wielkopole, Galicia and immigrated to the Pheasant Forks district of the North West Territories with her parents and 5 siblings in July, 1894. Her father, Franz "Frank" Golling, Sr and brother, Frank J Golling homesteaded on adjoining quarter sections of land immediately south of what would become the town of Lemberg.
"Mutter" as she was known to all in the family, married Johann Mann on February 18, 1896. Together they raised a family of 9 sons and 6 daughters. Some of their children are buried in St. Michael's cemetery: John, Martin, James (Jacob), Rose (Wild) and Margaret (Hubenig).
