Jeanne Katherine Truxal, age 53, died December 28, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Rexburg, Idaho, the daughter of Dr. Albert Carter and Mary Lou Coan Truxal. She grew up in Rexburg and after the family moved to Rupert, Idaho; she graduated from Minico High School in 1972. She went on to receive two Bachelor's of science degrees, Health Science and Medical Technology, from Boise State University in 1977.
She married Robert Dale Andrews in 1979, whom she had met while working at the University of Utah Medical Center. They have two sons, Scott Thomas residing in Seattle, WA and John David in Salt Lake City, UT. She went from working as a Medical Technologist to several positions with companies specializing in laboratory information systems. She was currently employed at the Huntsman Cancer Institute as Director of Communications. At home, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, reading, candy-making, and cooking. She enjoyed family vacations that included hiking, camping, skiing, and traveling. Of the things that mattered most to Jeanne was her family. While balancing a busy life, she focused on the positive experiences and the good in people. She enjoyed her work, cherished her friends, and loved her family. In 2002 she was diagnosed with ALS. Despite this disease, she continued working full time until near her death. The disease weakened her body but mentally she was "sharp as a tack". She was preceded in death by her father in 1992. She is survived by her husband, sons, and mother, as well as four sisters: Joan Truxal, Barbara Tomasini, Patricia Olsen of Boise ID; Linda Truxal of Golden CO; and three brothers: Bert of Reno, NV; Paul of Elko, NV; and Bruce of Bellevue, ID.
A Viewing will be held at 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Avenue, with Vigil Services at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, will be at Saint Ambrose Church, 1975 South 23rd East, Salt Lake City at 10 am on Thursday, January 3, 2007.
Internment will be at the Cemetery in Rexburg ID.
