Matthew is my hero. He was one of the bravest human beings I have ever known. At the tender age of 7 yrs. we found out he had a brain tumor. This was one of the darkest days of my life. It is one of those things you think could never happen to your family. He had brain surgery but they could not remove it. He had radiation that was awful for him. But he never lost his sweet spirit. I could not believe how strong a little boy could be. He remains to this day the best example of courage I have ever seen.

He loved his mother so sweetly and adored his father. He was the best big brother ever. He made straight A's in school and loved Jesus with his whole heart. He was young but had already accepted Jesus in his heart and was baptized. He went to church as long as he could and when he couldn't, we read Bible stories together.

He loved the Dukes of Hazzard and the space shuttle. He loved riding his big wheel and dressing up for Halloween. I miss him with all my heart and look forward to seeing him soon in Heaven. I am so proud to be his mother.
