My mom was a very special lady. She could cook anything without a recipe. She knitted all sorts of things. She used to knit crutch pads and slippers for the veterans at the nearby hospital. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and retired to Globe, Arizona. She had been an artists model for Maryland Institute, a block operator for the railroad and a magicians assistant before marrying my father John Ball. She was married close to 43 years before daddy passed away in 1988. She was survived by 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and 2 grandsons. She was preceded in death by one grandson. She also is survived by 3 Great Grand Daughters and also survived now by 11 great great grand kids! In April of '93 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and given 6 months. Sadly she died 6 weeks later. I granted her wish to keep her at home with no life support. She had said when God said it was time that she was ready and wouldn't fight his decision. It was so hard to watch her waste away from what she once was. I am glad she is with daddy and now walking hand in hand with him in heaven.
