She was my Maternal Great-Grandmother. She was born Savannah Georgia Pippin in Marion, Kentucky on January 1, 1889 to William Tell and Belle (Davis) Pippin. She had one sister: Alda (Pippin) Crawford which she named her daughter after, and two brothers: Ted Wrivers Pippin, and William John "Billy" Pippin. She was married to Ulysses Simpson Waller on September 30, 1911, in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana, and from this union 6 children were born. Frederick Douglas "Fred" Waller, Alda Evelyn "Ben" (Waller) Woolridge, Lales Van Cecil "Les" Waller, Fleta Marie (Waller) Dimmitt, Ulysses Garland "Sparky" Waller, and Alois Reginald "Al" Waller. She died at the young age 47 on April 24, 1936. She was a loving wife, mother and all around woman. My Great Grandmother was laid to eternal rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana.

Pneumonia Proves Fatal To Local Colored Lady.

Mrs. Savannah Georgia Waller, 46, wife of Ulysses Waller and well known colored resident of Mt. Vernon, died at her home at 214 West Tenth street at 1:05 o'clock Friday afternoon. An illness of pneumonia proved fatal.

The deceased was a member of the Free Will Baptist church, Household of Ruth, colored fraternity, and the colored YMCA club.

Nearest surviving relatives are the husband; six children, Fred, Alda, Lales, Marie, Ulysses, jr. and Alois, and the father, Tell Pippin of Washington, D.C.
