Jean was the daughter of John James Meyers and Mora Struble Meyers. She had one brother, John James Meyers.
She was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and later lived in Franklin, Pennsylvania, where she attended church and Sunday school

In approximately 1947, her mother, Mora, decided that it was time to leave tiny Franklin and move to Southern California. Jean really did not want to move, because she had friends in Franklin as well as a sweetheart there. But they did move to Los Angeles where Jean found employment at Englander Mattress Company and later at Byron-Jackson Pumps. She retired from Byron-Jackson. She had worked as a secretary during her teen years and all her adult life, having graduated from secretarial school.

She loved animals. She had a terrific crush on actor Victor Mature. She enjoyed the delicious taquitos at the corner taco stand at Olvera Street. She kept a transcribed copy of all the lyrics to the Nat King Cole song, "Frim Fram Sauce," keeping it with her letters and memorabilia.

She is survived by one son, Richard Alan Meyers of Seattle, Washington, and two nieces and one nephew: Margaret Phipps, Lisbeth Harrell, and Steven Meyers, all of California. We miss her gentleness and kindness.
