Otho Oscar Baker was born on 3 June 1880 in Gonzales County, Texas, to farmer James Alexander Baker and his wife, Laura Lee Squires. His mother died when he was twelve years old and he was raised by his step-mother, Cassie Gunn Baker. Otho married Della Pearl McGlaun, 15 March 1905, at the Methodist Church in Guffey, Texas. Their children were Beatrice and James Baker. After their marriage ended, Otho lived in San Antonio and Baytown, Texas. Otho Baker died, 29 December 1956, aged 76, in Baytown and was buried at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
