(He was the love of her life!)

DAUGHTER - Pamela Sue (Nutt) Durbin
/ buried nearby
DOD - April 1981

Goldie was GRANDMOTHER to
to one child:
*GRANDDAUGHTER - Shawn

She was GREAT-GRANDMOTHER to
one child:
GREAT-GRANDSON - Johnny Lee

***********************

It was once said of Mrs. Nutt:

"Never was anyone
so perfectly named
as 'GOLDIE'."

***********************

As a long time Joplin, Mo. resident,
Goldie worked at various businesses
around the community including:
Meeker Leather Co; Gold Medal
Ice Cream; and, in The Hat Shop
(in the old Frisco Bldg.) She also
was employed by: SEARS as well
as CONSUMERS MKT.

Goldie was a proud Democrat!

Lovely Goldie Nutt always was
attentive to her appearance, kept
her nails polished plus coif cut
'n curled to perfection; Goldie
enjoyed earrings and necklaces
plus a smart new outfit with matching
shoes 'n handbag. (She had no lack
in her wardrobe - just a shortage of
closet space!) She was as 'sweet-in-
nature' as she was attractive!

She was an ardent member of the
famed 'RED HAT CLUB'- often
attending their grand, giggle-
filled, girl-y gatherings of
'women of a certain age'.
She would waltz in wearing a
out-sized, scarlet picture hat
or dark red felt - depending on
the season. This group provided
great pleasure for her. She was
the center of many of their cute
parties not only because she was
the 'Senior Member' but because
she was FUN!

Goldie's time spanned most of the 20th
Century; Like a story from loooong
ago, her LIFE did not end as much as
merely faded from sunshine and her
inner glow...

************************

Goldie Nutt was a Christian woman.

************************

Following Goldie's demise, someone
broke into her home - stole family
keepsakes - her life's touchstones
(some of value / most were
sentimental tokens). The thief set
the cottage ablaze before crawling
back outside.

Joplin, Mo. FireFighters reported
5 locations where the blaze was
ignited - a favorite worn chair was
burned away to molten springs; the
bed pillows where her family had
slumbered, were charred to smokey
ash; orange flames licked away her
Sunday School dresses in the closet.
The house was smoked, scorched and
destroyed by a devilish fire.

The most hateful act of all - the
'Evil Do-er' held a match to the
delicate pages of the family's old
HOLY BIBLE, laying open on the
coffeetable. This act of 'pure mean'
erased birth/death/wedding records,
old poems, sweet letters, a few
pictures, along with the WORD OF GOD.

Say a prayer for the LOST SOUL who
stole into Goldie's Earthly home.
He may never know of a Heavenly
Mansion Home of his own, like what
Goldie enjoys today...
